What is a Sub Unitary Geography?
Dorset’s Districts will no longer exist from 1st April 2019 so continuing to provide data and analysis at these geographies, in the long term, will be both confusing and nonsensical.
Making data available at a Sub-Unitary level but at a significant enough geographic size provides the new Council, its partner organisations and stakeholders an opportunity to consider and compare data and trends within the new Council area.
Dorset Council’s Sub Unitary Geographies cover six wider geographies across Dorset and are built from ONS statistical lower level geographies (LSOAs) to enable contextual and statistical profiling.
